NAIDOC Week 2025

Each year as a nation we remember, reflect and honor those who came before us, their history, culture and achievements.

Across Australia, First Nation Peoples are celebrated and remembered.

This year the National NAIDOC Committee are celebrating with the the theme "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy". They are hosting events across Australia and encourage us all to take part in the events near us.

"Echoes of Earth" Art Exhibition

Country. Culture. Connection. A First Nations exhibition.

This exhibition celebrates First Nation Artists, their culture, story and Country.

The exhibition is open from the 9th of July till the 3rd of August ( Wed- Sat 10 am to 4pm, Sun 12-4pm).

Entry is free and there will be an opening event at the exhibition on Friday the 11th 6pm- 8pm.

The exhibition is being held at the "Gallery Unbound" 497 High St, Northcote.

NAIDOC Week Art Tour

Maroondah City Council invites us to come along on a 90-minute guided tour with Wiradjuri artist Stacey Payten at the Ringwood Arts Precinct.

This tour will look at the Aboriginal Arts and Culture through exhibitions and public art in Ringwood, starting at the Realm, and then heading to Maroondah Federation Estate looking at few key places between the two.

The tour will be held on Saturday the 12th of July, from 11am - 12.30pm.

The tour group will meet at the Realm Customer Service desk (ground floor) (179 Maroondah Hwy, Ringwood, 3134, Wurundjeri Country)

While the event is free, registrations are required and can be sent to gallery@maroondah.vic.gov.au

If attending it is recommended the you wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring a water bottle.
